Ananda Pagoda Festival in Bagan

Ananda Pagoda festival is usually fall on January, the full moon day of lunar month and holds the annual pagoda festival in every year. The villagers around Bagan come to enjoy the festival with their traditional bull lock carts and use as camps along the festival time. Many famous local troupes known as “Zat Pwal” had come to provide entertainment for the festival. During the festival, walk around in sea of vendors and shops that selling variety of local foodstuff from agricultural implements can be tastes also enjoying the local atmosphere as locality.

On the full moon day of Pyatho’s dawn, the pilgrims are ready with their donations and the Monks make their way between the donor’s lines up from both sides and all reverently place their donations into the monk’s hands. The Ananda Pagoda festival is not only the ritual for Buddhists but also meant for social gathering and reunification for the religion of Buddhism.  

There are domestic flights to Bagan-Nyaung Oo airport from Yangon or Mandalay or Inle. Normal passenger boat trip available between Mandalay and Bagan via Nyaung Oo as well. By using Highways Bus to visit Bagan from Yangon, Mandalay and Inle can be available. Budgets, Standard, Superior and Luxury standard accommodation are available in Bagan.
